The Munduk highlands above the coast have grown coffee for generations, alongside clove, vanilla and cocoa. The Buleleng agriculture office counts Munduk, with Gesing and Gobleg, among its arabica coffee villages.
Small-holder arabica and robusta plots cover the slopes. The better cafes in the region pour beans from a few valleys away, in place of shipped-in commodity coffee.
