A House Open to the View and the Breeze
Villa Oscar is designed for Balinese outdoor living. The front of the house is left open, so the view comes in and the breeze cools the rooms.
On the ground floor, the open-plan living area runs into the terrace, the pool and the garden. Under the high roof over the terrace stands a large teak dining table, with a lounge set beside it for the evenings.
Upstairs, a large porch has its own seating area. Beside it, a second living room with sliding glass doors has air conditioning, a flat-screen satellite TV and a DVD player.

The open-plan kitchen has a fridge with a freezer, a gas stove and a microwave. It also has a blender, a rice cooker, a toaster and a dispenser for hot and cold water.
Next to it, a utility room holds a washing machine and a guest toilet. The house is finished in teak, natural stone and granite, with free wifi, a stereo, films, books and a safe.
Three Bedrooms with Stone Bathrooms
All three bedrooms are spacious, each with a king-size bed, wardrobes, air conditioning and a private bathroom. Two are on the ground floor and one is upstairs.
The bathrooms are built in Balinese style from natural stone, with rain showers. Two of them have an open-air shower under a partly open ceiling, and one of those has an ordinary shower as well.
A baby cot can go in any of the bedrooms on request.
The Pool, the Gazebo and the Sunset
The infinity pool covers 66 square metres, long enough for laps. It overflows on the seaward side, so the water seems to run on into the landscape and the sea.
Sunbeds and parasols line the terrace around it. Beside the pool stands a gazebo, the open Balinese rest house, with a thick mattress and plenty of cushions for a book, a drink or some music.
In the evening, the listing describes the sun sinking into the sea with a red glow. Later, the sky fills with stars.

The garden around the house covers 1,350 square metres. Palms, fruit trees and plants that flower through the year fill it.
Singsing Waterfall Is a Walk Away
The listing puts the Singsing waterfall within walking distance, about 10 minutes from the villa along a hiking trail.
Northbound's guide to waterfalls near Lovina places Singsing in Temukus, at the western end of the Lovina coast. Buleleng's tourism office puts it 3 km from Lovina.
The water drops in the dry months, so the fall runs fuller in the wet season. That guide also suggests asking locally whether the path is in good order before you set out.
The Staff Cook, Clean and Keep the Pool
A housekeeper cleans each day and changes the linen and towels. She also cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner as you wish, at no extra cost, and you pay only for the ingredients.
A gardener and pool attendant looks after the garden and the pool, and a security guard covers the night. The staff do not live on the property. They work eight hours a day at hours you choose.
The listing offers these at extra cost:
- airport or hotel transfers, by regular car or VIP car
- daily trips
- laundry and massage
- a babysitter and a baby cot
- a honeymoon or birthday package
- VIP fast-track service at the airport
A highchair is available, and you can rent a scooter.
Who Villa Oscar Suits
Couples and honeymooners get a pool, a gazebo and a sunset view, and a honeymoon package can be added. Families have three bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a highchair and a cot on request.
Three couples or a group of six friends fit the three king bedrooms. Swimmers get a pool long enough for laps, and walkers have a waterfall trail close by.
Lovina's restaurants are a short drive away, so plan on a driver or a scooter for evenings in town. Where to stay in north Bali explains the trade-offs of a stay in the hills.
