A north Bali wedding planner is harder to find than a venue. The coast from Lovina to Menjangan has resorts with their own wedding teams, and a few island-wide planners publish pages for Lovina, Munduk and Menjangan, but they work from the south. This page sets out who does the work, in their own words, how to check them, and what a planner has to solve on this side of the mountains.

For a small wedding at one resort, the resort's own team is often enough: Puri Bagus Lovina at Pemaron and The Menjangan inside West Bali National Park both describe wedding staff who handle the ceremony, the decor and the day itself. For a villa wedding, a multi-day event or a legal marriage, hire a planner. The island-wide planners who publish north Bali pages are Linda Wiryani Design & Event Planning (Lovina, Munduk, Menjangan and Pemuteran), Wedding Bali (Munduk and Bedugul) and Bali Shuka Wedding (a Lovina venue listing); Bali Top Wedding handles mixed-nationality weddings and is a Bali Wedding Association member. Check any planner against the association's member directory, ask who travels from the south and who files the paperwork at the civil registry in Singaraja, and let the venue quote the rest.

Do You Need a Planner Up Here?
One resort, one day, under forty guests: the resort's wedding team can usually run it. Its staff know their own lawn, kitchen and rain plan, and the guests sleep on site.
A villa, several venues or several days: hire a planner. A private villa has no events department, so someone has to bring in chairs, flowers, sound, a celebrant and a caterer, and time their trucks to the gate. Event villas in north Bali sets out what the large houses around Lovina include and what they leave to you.
A legal marriage in Indonesia: a planner is close to essential. The paperwork runs through a religious officiant and the civil registry, in Indonesian, on a timetable. The Australian Embassy's own guidance suggests engaging a wedding organiser if you are unsure.
The distance changes the job. Linda Wiryani's Lovina page puts the coast about two and a half to three hours from the airport and notes that some vendors travel up from southern Bali, which needs careful scheduling. A planner working the north is booking vendors' travel and sometimes their beds, as well as their services. The road options are in getting to north Bali.

Resort Wedding Teams on the North Coast
Puri Bagus Lovina
Setting: A beachfront resort at Pemaron, at the Singaraja end of Lovina. The full venue profile is on wedding venues in north Bali.
What its team offers, in its own words: two venues, the Seaview Grill House, "an intimate beachfront setting," and the Maharani Pavilion, wooden architecture for larger gatherings, both "supported by professional wedding planning services." Its inquiry form lists the kinds of wedding it handles: an intimate wedding, a commitment ceremony, a full legal wedding, a Balinese blessing ceremony, a couple's wedding and a romantic dinner.
What to know: the same form has a section for your own wedding planner's company and contact, so the resort expects to work alongside an outside planner when you bring one. Ask what its team covers and where your planner takes over.

Best for: a beachfront wedding with the guests in the same resort.
The Menjangan
Setting: A resort in West Bali National Park, in the far north-west of the island.
What its team offers, in its own words: "Wedding Specialists" who "can organise everything from engagement and commitment ceremonies (religious or blessings) to full legal weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries and renewal vows." They advise on local customs and etiquette, propose venues, organise decor, make-up, catering, filming and entertainment, and manage the day. The ceremony spots are the fourth floor of its Bali Tower for the ocean view, "a dramatic suspended deck reaching out into the forest canopy," and Sentigi Beach. It lists three formats: a White Wedding Blessing, a Balinese Wedding Blessing and a Romantic Escape Wedding.

What to know: it sits at the western end of the north coast, far from Lovina, so it suits a wedding where everyone stays in the park. The reef and the island are covered in the Menjangan Island guide.

Menjangan Dynasty Resort
Setting: A beach glamping resort on Banyuwedang Bay at Pejarakan, also in the north-west.
What its team offers: its events site names an Events Team and three venues, the Prema Beach Garden, the Pasir Putih Beach Club and the Wantilan multi-function room, with rooms for guests on site. The full profile, including its published package, is on wedding venues in north Bali.

Three of the planners below work from Denpasar or Sanur and publish north Bali pages on their own sites; Bali Top Wedding is here for mixed-nationality weddings. Each description is theirs.
Linda Wiryani Design & Event Planning
Who they are: "a destination wedding planning and design studio" based in Denpasar, with "nearly two decades of experience in five-star luxury hospitality," specialising "in intimate weddings and private villa weddings in Bali."
Their north Bali coverage: destination pages for Lovina, Munduk, Menjangan and Pemuteran. The Lovina page describes "calm sea, black sand beaches, and authentic northern Bali atmosphere," gives a guest capacity of 10 to 100 depending on the venue, and plans ceremonies by the sea and dinner receptions at beachfront villas. Its planning notes cover the north's logistics: the airport distance, vendors travelling up from the south, and couples who turn a Lovina wedding into several days.

Best for: a designed villa wedding on the Lovina coast.
Wedding Bali
Who they are: "A small, hands-on agency based in Sanur," which says it takes on "only a handful of celebrations at a time" and handles "the venue, the paperwork, the florals, the food, the music."
Their north Bali coverage: a Munduk & Bedugul page of highland venues, from Munduk Moding Plantation to a glass chapel and a grass amphitheatre above Munduk, which calls the ridge between Munduk and Gitgit "the only part of Bali where a waterfall wedding is genuinely practical."

Bali Shuka Wedding
Who they are: a planner and organiser trading as CV. Bali Shuka Lestari, with an office in Denpasar.
Their north Bali coverage: a Lovina venue page in its venue finder, which lists Lovina Beach Club and Resort as a hotel and garden venue, with a package from its own range.

Best for: couples who want a package they can compare line by line.
Bali Top Wedding
Who they are: in its own (Indonesian) words, a licensed wedding planner and organiser founded in 2014, a member of the Bali Wedding Association since 2016, focused on domestic and mixed-nationality weddings, with services for the ceremony, the reception, elopements and the after-party.
Their north Bali coverage: no north Bali page is published. Ask about the north before you book. Its legal wedding guide is written for Indonesian citizens.

Best for: a couple where one partner is Indonesian.
Checking a Planner Before You Pay
Use the association's directory. The Bali Wedding Association calls itself "The Association of Professional Wedding Businesses in Bali" and publishes a member directory sorted by planners, venues, florists, photographers and caterers. Membership is voluntary, so a planner outside it is not automatically a risk. A planner who claims membership should appear there.
Check the website is really theirs. The association has published a notice about people misusing its name and logo, and about a member planner whose old web address was taken over by someone else. It asks couples to verify vendors' official websites and social accounts and to cross-check membership in the directory.
Ask these before you sign:
- Which north Bali venues have you worked at, and can I see that wedding?
- Which of your vendors travel up from the south, and are their travel and rooms in the quote?
- Who from your team is on site on the day, and where do they sleep the night before?
- Who handles the legal paperwork, if we marry legally here?
- What is the plan if it rains, and who decides when to switch to it?
The Legal Paperwork Is a Planner's Job
A legal marriage in Indonesia has two parts, a religious ceremony and a civil registration, and the religion has to be shared. The Australian Embassy's guidance says both partners must hold the same religion, that non-Muslim couples lodge a Notice of Intention to Marry with the civil registry at least ten days before the wedding, and that the marriage must be registered after the ceremony to be legal.
On this coast the registry is Buleleng's Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil, in Singaraja. Its marriage certificate requirements for two foreign nationals include a religious marriage statement from Buleleng, consular permission to marry translated into Indonesian by an official translator, the original visa and the original passport, and both partners sign the register in front of a registry officer.
A planner who says they handle legal weddings should be able to walk you through each of those steps and tell you how long they take now. The full walk-through, and the simpler symbolic route most couples choose, is in north Bali elopement packages.
A Balinese Blessing
Puri Bagus Lovina and The Menjangan both list a Balinese blessing. The Menjangan describes it as "a truly unique tradition performed by a Balinese Priest to bless your commitment or wedding, for your safety, health and happiness." The resort or planner books the priest and the offerings; you follow the priest's lead.

Season, Guests and Timing
Season: the dry months, roughly April to October, are the safe window for an outdoor ceremony on this coast. When to visit north Bali sets out the pattern month by month.
The day of silence: on Nyepi the whole island stops for a day, airport included. Your planner should check the date before anything else; Nyepi explained covers what it means.
Guest beds: resort weddings sleep the guests on site. For a villa wedding, or for the overflow, Palm Living's villas are around Lovina and give a family a pool of its own.

Do I need a wedding planner for a wedding in north Bali? Not always. For a small wedding at Puri Bagus Lovina or The Menjangan, the resort's wedding team handles the ceremony, the decor and the day. For a villa wedding, several venues, several days or a legal marriage, a planner saves you the vendor search, the travel logistics and the paperwork.
Which Bali wedding planners work in Lovina? Linda Wiryani Design & Event Planning publishes a Lovina destination page and pages for Munduk, Menjangan and Pemuteran. Bali Shuka Wedding lists a Lovina venue. Wedding Bali covers Munduk and Bedugul in the highlands above the coast. Most are based in Denpasar or Sanur.
Can I bring my own planner to a north Bali resort? Puri Bagus Lovina's wedding inquiry form has a section for your planner's company and contact, so it expects to work with outside planners. Ask any resort what its own team covers and where your planner takes over.
Can a planner arrange a legal wedding in north Bali? Yes, if both partners share a religion recognised in Indonesia. The planner arranges the religious ceremony and the registration with Buleleng's civil registry in Singaraja, which asks two foreign nationals for a religious marriage statement, translated consular permission to marry, and their original visas and passports. The Menjangan's wedding team lists full legal weddings among its services.
How do I check a Bali wedding planner is legitimate? Look for them in the Bali Wedding Association's member directory, confirm their website and social accounts are the ones linked from the planner's own pages, and ask to see a wedding they ran at a north Bali venue.
How far ahead should I book? Book the venue first and the planner next. For a dry-season date, start a year out if you can, because a planner who takes few weddings fills early.
