A north Bali corporate retreat trades an easy airport run for a coast where a team can think. The drive is about three hours, and at the end of it are beach resorts with meeting rooms, small resorts that let a group take the whole place, villas built for ten, and a highland retreat with an amphitheatre above the clouds. Why Take a Team North
The distance does some of the work. Nobody drops in for an afternoon and leaves. A team that makes the drive is there for the whole programme, and the evening is spent together.

The mornings are usable. The sea off Lovina is usually flat at dawn, which is when the dolphin boats go out, and a session can start after breakfast with the day's outing already done.
Beach and mountain are an hour apart. The coast is warm; the highlands around Munduk and Pancasari are cool enough for a jacket in the evening. A three-day programme can use both.
Choose the Format First
A conference-style offsite (a plenary room, breakouts, a projector, set meal times) needs a resort with meeting rooms and an events team. Puri Bagus Lovina and Menjangan Dynasty Resort both publish one.
A working retreat (a small team, a long table, workshops in the garden) suits a whole-property booking: a small resort taken in full, or a large villa.

Resorts With Meeting Rooms
Puri Bagus Lovina
Setting: A beachfront resort at Pemaron, at the Singaraja end of Lovina.
What it offers, in its own words: a Maharani Pavilion and an Executive Meeting Room "designed to accommodate between 40-100 participants," both "equipped with modern audiovisual technology and supported by professional event planning services." The pavilion is for "small-scale meetings, seminars, or conferences," and the meeting room for "intimate gatherings or breakout sessions." Its retreat inquiry form lists corporate, executive, training and team-building meetings; room layouts from boardroom and U-shape to classroom and theatre; half-day, full-day, half-board and full-board meeting formats; coffee breaks, buffets and a barbecue; vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free requests; and a request line for local culture and activity tours. For an evening, the resort has an outdoor stage it offers for traditional Balinese performances.

Best for: a plenary-and-breakouts offsite with everyone sleeping at the venue.
Menjangan Dynasty Resort
Setting: A beach glamping resort on Banyuwedang Bay at Pejarakan, in the north-west near West Bali National Park.
What it offers, in its own words: "small meeting rooms for intimate gatherings, medium-sized spaces for workshops and seminars, and larger combined rooms ideal for conferences, exhibitions, and social events." Its meeting packages "typically include complimentary Wi-Fi, audio-visual equipment (such as projectors, screens, microphones, and speakers), whiteboards, flip charts, and basic stationery," and its kitchen does coffee breaks, buffets and custom menus, with special diets on advance notice. An Events Team handles the booking, set-up and technical needs, and group rates apply when rooms are booked with the event space. Venues include the Prema Beach Garden, the Pasir Putih Beach Club and the Wantilan Multi-Function Room.
What to know: it is well west of Lovina, so the team stays put; the reef at Menjangan is the obvious day out.

Taking the Whole Place
Alamanda Lovina Resort
Setting: A boutique resort on the Lovina coast, with twelve rooms, two pools and a yoga shala.
What it offers, in its own words: "Alamanda can be booked in full: 12 rooms, the Shala, both pools, the treatment space and the kitchen, for up to 20 participants," with "full-board menus built with you," north Bali excursions "arranged around your schedule," and "airport transfers and on-site coordination." Groups "eat together at one long table," and plant-based, gluten-free and Ayurvedic-leaning menus are, in its words, "normal here rather than a special request." The shala holds 24 mats.
What to know: it is set up for retreats, with the shala as its group space, so ask where a projector session would go. Its experiences pages list a dolphin sunrise trip, fishing and a sunset cruise.

Villa Lovina Hill Paradise
Setting: A private villa on a hillside minutes from central Lovina, with sea and mountain views. It is one of Palm Living's villas.
What it offers, from its listing: five en-suite bedrooms for ten guests, which the listing calls "perfect for a family reunion, a high-end corporate retreat, or a friend getaway." A private infinity pool with a jacuzzi, a spa corner, a gym area, a fully equipped kitchen, and "a beautiful formal indoor or outdoor dining area for ten." Daily breakfast, staff service and free Wi-Fi are included.
What to know: a villa has house staff; it has no events team, AV kit or meeting room. Bring your own screen, and see the listing for current rates. Larger houses, and what to ask an owner before a group booking, are in event villas in north Bali.

Munduk Tentrem
Setting: A mountain retreat at Gobleg, near Munduk, "overlooking mountains shrouded in morning mist and natural rainforest."
What it offers, in its own words: an amphitheatre for "an art performance, corporate events, or private function," which "can accommodate 50 people (seated)," with "a beautifully styled raised stage" and the hills behind it. Its experiences run from a cooking class and an organic farm to jungle trekking, waterfall treks and tree planting, which is a team afternoon that leaves something behind.

Handara Golf & Resort
Setting: Pancasari, on the Singaraja to Denpasar road in the highlands.
What its official listing says: the Buleleng tourism office listing describes a par 72 golf course with views of the mountain and Lake Buyan, at 1,142 metres above sea level, with Wi-Fi in all areas, an average temperature of 14 to 20 degrees Celsius and a heater in every room. It adds massage and karaoke in the evening, and "meeting rooms are also available."
What to know: the listing is the source used here; ask the resort directly for current meeting capacities. The split gate at its entrance has its own guide, the Handara Gate.

Team Days Out
The north has the outings a team remembers, and most start early.

Logistics
Transfers: book group transport from the airport rather than letting people find their own way. Getting to north Bali sets out the routes, and private drivers in north Bali covers hiring a car and driver for the week.
Food: both meeting resorts take special diets on notice, and Alamanda builds menus with the organiser. Send dietary needs with the rooming list.
Connection: Menjangan Dynasty's packages include Wi-Fi, Handara's listing says Wi-Fi covers all areas, and the villa listing includes it. For video calls or a live session, ask for a test before you sign.
Calendar: on Nyepi the whole island stops for a day, airport included; Nyepi explained has the detail. Balinese ceremony days can affect staff and roads, so ask the venue what falls in your window.
Season: the dry months, roughly April to October, suit outdoor sessions and boat trips; when to visit north Bali has the pattern.
